Hua Xu, Ph.D.

Dr. Hua Xu has over forty years of experience in biomedical research field.

  

Dr. Xu received a BS in Microbiology from Sichuan University, Chengdu, China and a PhD in Physiology from the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona. She worked at the Chengdu Institute of Biology, Chinese Academic of Science (Chengdu, China) before working at the College of Medicine at the University of Arizona for over thirty years.

 

Dr, Hua Xu dedicated her career to biomedical research related to digestive function, reproductive function and aging related health issues. Her research focused on the regulatory mechanisms of ion exchangers in multi-organ systems, the pathophysiological roles of these proteins in various tissues. Dr. Xu has made significant contributions to the understanding of the roles of ion exchangers in physiological conditions and pathophysiological conditions. She has published more than 130 publications in the form of review article, research papers, meeting abstracts and book chapters.
